Michigan Adventure.

Up north was awesome. Though we ran into a couple weather issues that ultimately inspired us to bail on the canoe trip in Grayling and come home a couple days early, it ended up being a good decision. Camping by the water, eating/drinking with the locals and a pictured rock tour from the water equated to a pretty decent vacation. First Manistee for the night in a cabin right on Lake Michigan. Next was a morning of hiking at Sleeping Bear Dunes, where the wind was intense and the water was a perfect shade of teal. Then we drove from there to Traverse City and spent the night at a gorgeous state park. Packed up our tent at 5am, in the dark and pouring rain and head towards the UP. Drove past the bridge and straight to Munising, marveling at how different the lifestyle and people are up there. Spent the rest of the week exploring and hiking waterfalls and the pictured rocks, which is by far the prettiest place I've ever seen in Michigan. The water looks tropical and the scenery is amazing, it was hard to believe I was in my own state. Camped on the beach of Lake Superior for a couple days, cooked on the fire and laughed at many future inside jokes. All in all, a great week off.
